June 25, 2013: Another great day on tour in California! After two days in Monterey we had to say our goodbyes,
pack up the bus, and head towards the Santa Barbara and Ventura area. We broke up the long drive with many stops in
order to take in the great views from Pacific Coast Highway 1 and surprisingly
no one had motion sickness as we wound our way through the mountains alongside
the ocean. We first stopped at Big Sur to take in the gorgeous view. When we
pulled up the fog was thick but quickly lifted to reveal the blue ocean and
tree covered mountains. Next we pulled off at a beach covered with hundreds of
sea elephants. That is definitely
something you don't see in Akron! After
a quick lunch we made a pit stop at the hotel which was placed next to the ocean marina full of sailboats out our
front door. In record breaking time,
singers were in their concert attire and off to Unitarian Society of Santa
Barbara. The highlight of the night was
singing aside a (very) young man who even graced us with a solo. Needless to say, he was given a resounding
applause and photo ops with some of the young ladies.
