Sat on a bus... Drank a coke.... Went to bed.
Today we were able to slow down the pace since we did not have a scheduled performance. We started the morning saying goodbye to the families that welcomed us into their homes last night in Murray KY and once again packed up the bus for a nice leisurely ride to Atlanta GA. Snacks and movies were abundant on our ride today as we headed deeper into the South. As we exited the highway into downtown Atlanta, we spotted our destination, The World of Coca Cola. This multi-level building provided a lot of memorabilia and not one can of Pepsi could be found. After a brief orientation and a movie, we were free to explore the many areas of the World. We learned about the history of Cokes founding in Atlanta and how it was only sold in pharmacies for a nickel. Ice would cost you a penny more! We were able to see the vault which contains the only original copy of the secret formula of Coke. There were interactive games, a 4-D theater and to cap it all off a tasting room of numerous coke products from all over the world with many that are not sold in the United States. Some were very tasty while others were.....not. In particular, the ones from Italy made many faces pucker up. Last but not least, the tour ended in a gift shop which was filled with hundreds of Coke items. After leaving Atlanta we traveled to Macon GA for a dinner at Cracker Barrel and to the beds of our hotel.
