June 28, 2013: Is the touring choir having fun? Oh yes they are! After breakfast at the hotel, we made our way to Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano. In the Jubilee Year of 2000, Pope John Paul II proclaimed the Mission Church of San Juan Capistrano a Basilica. This is a title of honor granted by the Holy See to churches that have achieved special religious, historical, and cultural significance. There, the choir performed a mini concert much to the delight of the visitors of the Basilica.
Many serious (and not-so-serious) group shots were taken as the group enjoyed each other's company. We explored the historic downtown area and broke off into our groups for lunch. The scenic route was taken along Laguna Beach back to the hotel for some much needed rest before tonight's concert at St. George Episcopal Church and Academy. Topping the night was our Senior Night at Cold Stone Creamery.
